Just saw in Argus that Bert Levy, apart from re-submitting a bunch of obscure routes, has announced that he will be back at Arapiles in November 2013. We have been warned.

This is the Bert of "Ferrets and Berts" and "Grooving with Bert". He's from California (or was). He was a regular visitor to Arapiles from the early 80's into the late 90's. A lot of people, including myself, have climbed with him and most of them will have stories.
The list of mega new routes that he submitted to Argus have appeared before and were added to the ACA online guide a year or so ago, even though I couldn't positively identify some of these classics. Maybe when Bert returns he can show me here those routes are. If he can find me.
*post-edit* From the ACA guide : "The next two climbs have not been located despite an exhaustive search lasting several seconds"

Yeah I found most of them in the aca guide, I assumed he put them in there. I intentionally left them out of the 'new routes and beta' because of the way in which the letter was handed to me.

How were they handed to you?

Somewhat late, with a somewhat hesitant 'see what u can do with this'. It was a hand written letter, in pencil on graph paper. Sent from the other side of the world. It had a certain charm to it.
