I think with any site, it can be good or bad, depending on how much time and effort you put into it to keep it 'live'. My take on the idea, is it could be like a central repository for 'alternative' (use the word reluctantly) sports, news, events and results. I think it would have good appeal generally. Neil's points about specificity ring true, ie how much info on any particular sport can you have on multi facetted website? If people are really into the sport they will go to Chockstone or Ski.com. But I got the feeling from Dan he wasn't looking to set of a forum so much as a general site.

Personally, I think it would work given what seems to be resurgance in the adventure lifestyle and the 'me' generation - the latter is the impresison I get from the media
