Is that biner getting edge loaded as well as the interference from the carrot?

Less of a problem if orientated the opposite way, but still a potential problem if the karabiner gets lifted whilst climbing and ends up hooked over the other bolt. I wouldn't like to fall if it was in that configuration.

No, just hitting the carrot
The peanut gallery is correct: turning the biner, or using a smaller biner, would reduce the issue.

No problem is you just use a bolt plate and the carrot. :)

Actually 12 or 13 mm auto-unclipping heads!

Just chop that pesky ring and the carrot is perfectly safe

Would a cam fit in the crack under the bolt?

Shouldn't new bolt holes be drilled 20cm away from existing ones anyway?

Glue-ins have much lower spacing requirements than expansions. Hilti recommends just 5 x bolt diameter, so 50mm in the case of a 10mm U-bolt leg.

That's not a U bolt and that bit of mank is probably not much more than an inch deep.

I think the Petzl docs quote the 200mm figure. Whether absolutely necessary or not, it's a reasonable guideline.
