I assume you mean loop not proof?

So what I was getting at was as evidenced by the thinner sling on the thumb loop, the webbed stem must be less susceptible to kinking damage when loaded. Hence I was wondering if even though it's software material it might actually hold up to falls better?

So the UL C4s have been subject to one recall (https://warranty.bdel.com/CamalotRecall/Landing) relating to dodgy rivets. Later examples are free of this issue (apparently).

I had a bit of an adventure on Psychopath the other day when i went to place my new C4 No3 and the wire had come out of the trigger - presumably from the way it was packed neatly (=stuffed in) my rucksack. anyway i got it in and back together later. Looking at a few US forums this is a problem with the No3 particularly, though BD isnt doing much about it.

The No3 (big blue one) has rubber shrouds around the trigger wires cut shorter than those on the 1 or 2 so the trigger wire can come more easily through the trigger hole and come off the hook - itself smaller than standard C4 hooks. The longer shrouds on the 1 &2 mean this is much less likely to happen.

Solution - let BD know if you experience this problem.
inspect the cam before every pitch
in my case ive put a small cable tie through to hold in place. Up to you if you want to do that but i am a bit disappointed at having to use a cable tie to hold together a piece of kit from a world class manufacturer.

>> Between the shorter stem termination and the soft dyneema stem these may be somewhat more resistant to walking in kinda shitty placements; which would be neat if correct.

I have a few of the new Ultralights.

BD added more rigid plastic to the casing surrounding the dyneema stem, such that the UL C4's are equally rigid as the normal C4s. (If anything, my new ULs are slightly stiffer.) I can see why BD needed to add rigidity- otherwise the cam would flop around like a wet noodle and be impossible to place.

The stems are also just as long as the normal C4s.

All-in-all, the UL C4s have similar rigidity and resistance to walking as normal C4s.
