Havent used the Russian TriCams but bloody good idea . . .

Have got, and have used a version of the second things, have taken them aiding, and used them on multipitch stuff to give extra potions at belays . . .

And we did develop a liking for them on Doggie and some of the softer rock, reasoning that they might offer a little more 'traction' then 'slicks' - 'off-road' nuts ?? . .

Still take them out on occasion . . .

Didn't the Bluewater (?) coconuts have a similar ribbed design?

Seriously that's such a cool idea in principle, besides the straight sides..

For information, "Modele Bevete" means patented model. According to this (warning it's in french) http://www.camptocamp.org/forums/viewtopic.php?id=58456

Laprade is a name of forgery that made some climbing gear in the 80's , René Desmaison was helping with the design. Apparently it has been bought by Simond since.

Further info from Stéphane Pennequin at Nuts Museum.
The “nest of nuts” is a Laprade Coinceur Gigogne. Here is some more information about it. It came on the market in 1979 (Patent FR 2 410 487, Jacques Paul Fournier, 29 June 1979). If you like, you can post this information, along with my photo of the Coinceur Gigogne, on Chockstone.

The Abalakov-style flywheel cams that Mikl posted a pic of to start this thread, are pictured on the Supertopo thread Old mystery pro along with other pics and further interesting info.

~> Now all we need is for the famous wax museum of historical celebrities, to display a life size Mikl, especially now that his book is out to add to his fame...
Heh, heh, heh.

Talking about strange gear, I'm curious about the Kong Gypsies, has anyone had any experience with them?
