Can anyone recommend a physio in Melbourne who specialises in finger/hand tendon problems? I have 2 painful joints on my pointer finger that has been tentatively diagnosed as a overuse/repetitive strain injury, and would like to see someone who has experience in this area to confirm the diagnosis and treatment.
Cheers,
Adrian

I have seen Jeff Sanderson from Melbourne Hand Rehab at their North Essendon location : http://www.melbournehand.com.au/index.php?pg=1495 . Jeff has climbed in the past so he has an understanding of what we do to our hands. Bear in mind that he is an Occupational Therapist so he may or may not be covered by any health insurance you have.

I usually go straight to the skype consult with Julian Saunders. He's an osteopath, but he probably has more experience of working with climbing injuries (not to mention having them himself!) than anyone else you'll find.

physios, osteos etc are all bullshit for fingers. rest and ice for a while.. buy a bucket and some bags of rice. add in. open and close hand. do tendon frictions. do forearm weights. If that dont work see a real sports doctor not someone with an applied science degree.
