I echo the positive reviews above, but I found it hard hearing the interviewers questions (as the microphone was oriented towards Hazel & Alex), though this was preferable to not hearing their responses!
Quotable quotes from Pythagoras' Theorem footage...
Alex (to Hazel belaying): It's just about to get kind of real here, (start of stem corner)...
Hazel: It looks fun.
Alex: I hate stemming.
Hazel: I didn't know that. I thought you liked it.
Alex: No, I hate it. I find it very scarey!
Hazel: You're pretty good at it.
Alex: Yeah, but, I hate it!
Hazel: Uh huh.
Alex (overdub recording): "I really thought I'd sorta like be able to face climb it, wall stemming not actually stem, where like you having to paste your feet on blankness, and uh up there you have to paste your feet on blanknesses, and ah I'm wearing like these soft down turned shoes you know for sport climbing, and you go like ah this stemming doesn't really feel all that sweet.
My calves got really pumped, but it's a nice route though. I mean I can see how that, especially for Australia it's probably a fairly unique style, as I haven't seen anything else here where your like fully friction stemming."
The plethora of footage around featuring both of these climbers together, and the obviously comfortable chemistry they display with each other, wouldn't surprise me at all if they get married in the future...?
>wouldn't surprise me at all if they get married in the future...?
I'm pretty sure Alex H has a long term partner back in the US but given the number of vids he and Hazel have been in recently tongues are probably going to wag!
On this vid, I thought it was great, and nice to see him looking a bit sketched on PT :)
Cheers guys! Yep re: audio unfortunately I didn't bring three mics and couldn't really boost it much more on me without it sounding like balls. Glad you enjoyed it though! I've seen it so many times now but their banter still puts a smile on my dial, and that was the main thing I wanted to capture.
