Forget all these gnarly DVDs and come to the dark side of the written word.

I can loan you some books from the old Yosemite masters (Royal Robins, Warren Harding, Glen Denny, Steve Roper et al.).

By the time you finish them you'll be completely stoked to aid 5.7 and live on tins of sardines for weeks at a time. You'll snub steep sports climbs and gravitate towards heinous offwidth cracks like a young Nick Cave to heroin.

Hm. Maybe this is why my climbing sucks... on second thoughts stick to the DVDs.

Just because it's got Stefan soloing Kachoong.

I quite like E11 - Dave McLeod taking massive whippers on shit looking gear, but it holds.

Get all literate and read some books too: Escape from Kathmandu by Kim Stanley Robinson, and The ascent of Rum Doddle by WE Bowman.

This one?

Just for you I watched it again, the heel hooking made sense to me, less effort than any other means I can think of to support up to half your body weight whilst horizontal.

Agree. If you like substance with your climbing footage, and have even a slight philosophical tendency, you'll love this.

Defintaley an excellent anitdote to the techno and hype of the US sport/bouldering DVDs.

Both have their place, but I found 'The Triple 5' really refreshing. Enjoyed it a lot.

My all time favourite is The Prophet by Posing Productions, frikken classic. Mental climbing, good music, good cinematography and a cracking line. Other classics to check are Psyche 1 and 2, also by posing productions.

What about Smitten. Doesn't that have some climbing in it.
