Good Day climbers,
we will shortly have a room for rent (from around July 15th) in Munro Street, Brunswick.
The place sports a big shed, 2 climbing walls (1 horribly hard for the hard and strong amongst us) and the other more achievable for the more moderate climbers (like me!). Nice big back yard, close to shops (Union Square) and 55 Tram on Grantham Street.
If successful you will be sharing with me (Joe - 35YO Male) and Nick (33 YO Male). Your room is just slightly smaller than the other two. Rent is $404.50 per calender month. Bond is about the same (a slightly different amount though - can't remember exactly what at the moment).
Joe has a broadband internet connection with a 4 port router which I am currently paying the lot for, and would be happy to share the ongoing rental costs and service with.
Contact me if you want to see some pics of the place or get more info. jg@aanet.com.au 0425 883 719 here are a few to get you going:
Climbing wall 1 (for the hard and strong)
Climbing wall 2 (for the soft and weak)

The lounge room while packing for a 2 week trip to Moonarie recently
The back yard - yes that is a watering system I've installed. In the summer months the garden goes off! Green thumbs most welcome.
Front porch
Here are some things we are looking for in a housemate:
friendly
easy going - be happy that we may or may not agree with you on various things and that's just fine and dandy.
Someone with their own healthy social network - we are happy to be your house mates, but not necessarily your best buddy 24/7! Jeez - we haven't even met you yet!
able to pay their way with bills without a fuss
strong environmental views - hippys are welcome as long as you are not too out there...
non-smoker
no pets
Good hang of the English language
we are not an overly communal household - prefer to do our own thing and not plan group meals or group shopping etc.
Someone willing to put in to keep the house looking tidy in the common areas (kitchen, bathroom, lounge etc).
Someone over 25 years of age and less than say 42
Well - if this sounds like you get in touch and we can have a chat and arrange to meet you!
Ciao,
Joe & Nick

Jezz, anyone would think you were shopping for a wife with a list of prerequisites that long....

Yeah well what can I say? If our new housemate was female, single, intelligent, beautiful, drives an expensive 4WD, loves climbing, climbs strong, into Yoga, art, films, gardening, cooking, sharing a glass of nice red or two and a nice chat with her housemate, as well as looking for that special someone I'm sure we could be of some assistance....
The Munro street dating agency is open for business...(not for myself of course - some of my good friends are still looking for that special someone).
Oh - I should have added that short term 2-6 month) travelers are also welcome. We might have to carefully select and whinging pom's out of this equation though.

Bump...
we are still looking.
The date might be a little later now (was 15 July), somewhere closer to the end of July.
Get in touch if you are looking for a room, or know of anyone you can recommend.
Ciao,
Joe

i can definently recommend this household to other climbers. Good access to the western highway, nice place, housemates and training facilities.
Cheapish rent too.

Just re-reading your messages - I am not looking for a room but do happen to fit all of your other criteria
re the female flat mate/dating agency. So Joe if your very good friends are say between 35 and 42 yrs
old, fiscally competent and do other things as well as climb (such as mtn bike or snow board) then hook
me up! ;)

Better check the religion of prospective tenants ... those ominous-looking chimney-stacks could be an 'issue ' ...

How can one offend ones religion when religion is a fanatical waste of time and space. There is, quite simply, no god.

M10 - Bluey is a chick to my knowledge. And i don't think environmentalism is a 'religion' as such nor is the chimney stack comment relevant to anything.
And widewetandslippery - i'm politely requesting that u keep comments like that to yourself.

Really? People can have opinion on most things, but not on humans interesting idea that a supernatural being created us and overseas us? That seems pretty stupid.
As far as I am concerned (just as Richard Dawkins says), there should be no pandering or pussy footing around those people who choose to believe crazy things. Celestial teapot anyone.....
Good luck with getting a boarder.....

It's just respect. I'm not getting into an arguement about this but I don't think anyone has the right or reason to belittle religious views on this forum.

Since we have now covered the usual two topics best to avoid discussing, Politics and Religion (because no one will agree) over the last couple of days.
How about trying to return the focus on the important things like Sport Vs Trad?
Or getting a boarder for Joe and Nick?
