There was evidence in the rubbish pile of a partial clean up effort in the past. A few bins and trolleys etc had been gathered into a large cloth basket thing that looked like it was prepared for helicopter liftout but then left there. This hadnt been done recently though and was overwhelmed by even more rubbish. Our thoughts were that some attempt had been made and decided it was just too hard

Does anyone know what the story is with this constructed ledge at the base of the route? It's been semi-professionally constructed with proper bolts and sawn timber to fit and bolted onto the trees. It's not the sort of thing made on a whim by kids - someone has had to bring down proper power tools to build it. It doesn't look that old either...

The last few rotten bashies leading left from crack have been replaced w/ glue in machine bolts, and one on top. Left old ones in. Wanted to add one just before anchor but theres something about falling onto a ledge at the end of a long day that makes this last 6mtrs memorable. (did do a bit of a shuffle). They say El Nino is coming....could Echo Crack ever be dry?
