Fixed gear on the bard

On Sunday I was leading on The Bard in the one 10 min block of solid rain we had all day. The rock was
slippery and the rope heavy which lead to my .05 Wild Country Friend walking all the way up into a crack
until just the very tip stuck out.
So for all of those of you who were concerned that the easiest and last pitch of Bard had no fixed gear
shortly before topping out, rejoice!

Everyone else, my apologies for not jamming it in the crux or halfway along the traverse.

Has anyone extracted the "EXCALIBUR' tent peg from the middle of the pines.

it is marked with a cairn
They say that one day the chosen one will remove it.
i have wittnessed many drunken attempts, yet it remains stuck fast,as if held by a demon witch spell.

Wow I thought I christined that tent peg EXCALIBUR. I guess great minds think alike. Or else I was chatting to you in a drunken night in the pines. Its been there since at least the start of December.

Hehe. I'd have to take a look to check, but I think that tent peg may have been my handiwork. Has it been there since 2007? Smacked one into a tree root with a big mallet one trip. Tried bloody hard to get it out; no chance.

Is that nasty, loose block still near the top? I say it should be tumbled.

Nah, just a standard crack placement at the end of a looong day. I'm sure it's in someone's rack by now.
I look forward to hearing about how being out in the elements for a day made it glide out like silk!
