What's the bolted line up the amazing looking arete on the L of Mt Fox, it's the L arete of the 14 chimney. On
the same topic, has anyone actually done the project up the middle of 20th C fox wall? Simey bags it in the
guide but it seems that there's a limit to how bad any route up the middle of that wall could be.

It's called 'Baron Von Marlon' and was put up by Nic and Grizz. Goes at 25 I think. Details in the link below.

Route up the middle of the face looked pretty good from the ground. No idea if it's been done.

I rebolted that middle line project a few years back - and on rap inspection it looked every bit 3 stars. I
have no idea why it was bagged out so much. It looks totally doable as well. Perhpas the last bit might
be ultra hard, but it would be easy to bail left or right into the finish of one of the other routes. I imagine
this is what Claw did...

I got pulled /tensioned/short-roped off last moves when belayer collapsed with heatstroke, finished right instead I think. Crux is the steep wall above the crack - pretty Foxy 25+

Did you grab another sling on the way down Mike a la Boy Racer styles?
I seriously don't understand how people walk away from stuff like that....

Not serious, my waist was at the bolt - I could probabaly work it up into a good story with a few beers though.

You're on Mike. If you're going to be anywhere near the Gramps this weekend let me know.

Mikl,
It strikes me that the time you tried Pretty Foxy was very close to when you did Rent A Doddle at Ben Cairn. Am I right about the timing?
There's no date for Rent A Doddle in the guide but it was done just before the introduction of Fires which was late 83 and the Mt Fox routes including Pretty Foxy were done in early 83.
No biggy, but the confluence of dates suggests to me that you were at a climbing peak at the time.

Inideed, climbing much better than I was thinking, these days I'd be back next weekend and finish it.
