Frog campervan camping situation |

We are on our way to Frog for the first time a few years and just tried to book the camping for tonight. Unfortunately, it turns out there are only two "campervan" spots but neither are available tonight or tomorrow night. There are only 14 camping sites and none of them are available tonight.
We have our own campervan now and are pretty easy to satisfy in terms of a spot to stop. We really only need somehow relatively flat and a toilet...though toilet is really optional.
Does anyone have any suggestions? What are the chances of a ranger moving us on or even fining us if we just camp for free in the carpark for one night?

The car park is relatively large. Pretty low odds you will have trouble with the ranger. Most likely you will be climbing by the time they get there. Obviously don't make it look like you are staying for three months.

Even if you book/pay for an unpowered camp site they would accept your vehicle in the appropriate carpark space for/on? it...
14 spaces and only 2 that vans can use?
~> typical short sightedness by bureaucracy happening here methinks!
No sites available? Then wikicamps (app) is your friend...

We were one of the legally booked vans, but now coming to renew others have got in, so just booked a tent site to pay. But as you would have discovered there are about 8 vans up here at the moment. The ranger came around yesterday morning and was pretty friendly. There is room for at least 5 vans in the designated area, so I don't know why it's restricted to 2.

We just decided to rock up anyway - I'm not sure if it was kosher but were willing to chat to the ranger and pay if asked. We did the same as you, Vanessa, and just booked a camp-site after the first night.
Maybe the restricted numbers are so the facilities don't get overloaded? Though with the amount of people there on Sunday I'm not sure it's working...
