Gentlemen and ladies and all inbetween and beyond
I'll be up north around Darwin, Lichfield, Batchelor and Kakadu for a week and a bit very soon. Its a family holiday so ill mostly be sightseeing, swimming with walking handbags, and fishing. However I do hear that there are a few rocks about there and if anyone knows of a few boulders in those areas for a play i'd love to know. Would need to be seriously easy access but my standards are very low. Not as low as Damo with the horny goat on the ledge but pretty fking low nonetheless.

Some great climbing in darwin but it's all hard to get to. There is un-documented and probably not legal bouldering at 'Lost City' in Litchfield but need a high clearance car or 4wd to get in.
There is a granite boulder belt that you drive past on both the Arnhem and Stuart Highway - dont bother going for a look, they are all flaky and horrible.
Deep water solo-ing is probably your best bet for easy access. If you want more details send me a PM.

If you don't mind breakable holds the Dripstone Cliffs right in Darwin are OK for bouldering. Sand landings, which is good, 'cos the cliffs are more clay than rock and every third hold will pull off.
There is tons of rock in Kakadu, but the traditional owners are touchy about climbing. You would have to boulder out of sight of anyone.

Stugang,
Lots of possibilities. Not a horny goat in sight as they have all been eaten by the crocs.
Limestone, bullet like sandstone, stromatolites, and plunge pool swimming with some euro flesh. All rock and probably some of the euro flesh has been sampled by Col.
Most areas are within 150 km of Darwin which is about half an hour at territory speeds.
Will PM u.
Cheers Bill
