I saw this photo and was like wtf this is in NSW and why havn't I hear of it?

Then checked the crag.com and found:

https://www.thecrag.com/climbing/australia/kaputar/area/11773927

Anyone got any idea about this place, it seems to have small few low grad lines? - is it not the place in the photo or is it just that the photo makes it look better than it is?

Is a low grade in Kaputar like a low grade in Bungles? NSW has some incredible places and rock...Ive been working on graziers properties out west and come accross incredible outcrops and boulders. Shame they never near camp and bouldering in steelcaps is no fun either.

Jake, that's sawn rocks - same national park but over an hours drive from MT Kaputar. Climbing prohibited.
That said, Kaputar is AWSEOME and the campground has hotshowers.
Makes up for being a 6 hr drive from Sydney.

Try 8 hours from sydney =P

Kaputah is amazing, I've probably spent 7 days there now despite the distance...

Having said that... even a low grade Kaputah climb is not to be underestimated. Often the gear is VERY spaced and quite fiddly (and not obvious) to place. Mt Lindsay is probably the only tame crag there.

Regardless, I love the place, and am trying to find a partner to get back there so I can tick Aslan.

Jake - The web page reference you gave was for Mount Kaputar which is only one of the many climbing areas in the Mount Kaputar National Park. There has been quite a bit of new info, topo's etc posted recently on The Governor. Check out https://www.thecrag.com/climbing/australia/kaputar/area/12114847.
One of the best cliffs around but I'm a little biased - My Chockstone name is Gov Junky for a reason!
