Araps in June?

Good time to go?

It can be awesome or it can suck. Sometimes both in one day. Some times more than once each in one day. Just imagine England in the summer time.

Bad time to go if you have limited time and are spending a lot of money to get there. It can be cold and wet for weeks on end. You're taking your chances - and it's not balanced in your favor at that time of year.

Some of the best days of my life were spent at arapiles in june last year.

I say roll the dice.

M9, can you pull up one of the endless threads on this topic for us please?

I say, go to Frog. Or the northern hemisphere.

It is interesting that not too many (of the many that exist), results come up in a 'search', even though I used various search-criteria.
This is probably because the responses regarding weather at Arapiles have been specific to individuals within threads that they started, having titles like 'travelling and climbing in Australia', ... so key words like, Arapiles + June + weather, don't turn up much.

If ajf doesn't know of a better shortcut/system, I might start creating a link database that can eventually be added to Chocky.

In the meantime here are some links that may be useful...

A couple of Wendy’s earlier responses...

One of the general searches I did...,or.r_gc.r_pw.r_qf.,cf.osb&fp=b0503725fd96b685&biw=848&bih=480

A useful bit of info from one of the threads I checked...

Going to Araps in winter and expecting good climbing weather is a lottery!

Another vote for lottery (sorry). Living in Melbourne, sure (assuming you check the forecast), but there are better times to go...

If you're stuck in Victoria then it's your best option.
