I figured I'd throw that in there seeing this is a public forum.
I in no way encourage, nor condemn the wearing of pants at Ben Cairn.

Dr box, how was the moss and climbing? I'm heading up there tomorrow morning, hopefully.

yeah it wasnt too bad. bit off moss around but nothing that would really stop you from still doing some good lines. most good routes in the high teens low 20's were clean enough. removed a lot of moss from wereturkeys.
go for it mate, it'll be fine

Excellent report dr box. Now I'm praying for no rain. And the winning Tatts numbers.

Well Shortman and I made it up to Ben Cairn this morning. It was a beautiful morning with lots of mist in the trees, though wonderfully clear whenwe arrived at the top of the slabs. We decided to throw a toprope on Skating Away and rapped down right as the finest misty rain began to fall.
The light rain turned the climb into an ice rink and while it was fun watching Dan's feet slip and slide once he pulled through the cracks onto the slab I wasn't laughing when my feet and hands didthe same thing...
We only did the one climb though it was a great morning out. Most of the main climbs looked well travelled and moss free. Oh, and the new Melbourne guide is great. I like it lots.

Skating Away was certainly the flavor of the day....thanks Mike!
Anyone know how slippery this thing is at the best of times?

When Ben is dry it is a funky bizarre friction. I think Mike Law described it as Formless Grey Blobite.
