From the VCC: "We've just received the attached advising of restricted access via Little River Road for 1-2 weeks in mid-late June due to major bridge works".

(bump) Did this happen? Everything OK now?

Parkweb says the access road is open after the wind damage of a few weeks back, but no mention of bridge works.

Cathedral is open for business. Bridge work is done and the bottom half of the walking track to the Farmyard/Jawbones has been rebuilt.

Yup, confirmed.
Echoing the above comments - the walking track up the hill has been rebuilt. It now wanders across the hillside in a nicely graded fashion. They've done a significant amount of work. The old "direct" track has been well covered with sticks and branches!
The walk is now slightly longer but the height gain is the same. ;-)

The track to North Jawbones (the one that goes left of a rock outcrop) is fairly well worn but the departure point from the "main" track is not obvious. A few cairns at the start would help (I've started one).

Dear Safer Cliffs (yes I know, I should post this elsewhere). I suggest Xanthene (***17) needs some rebolting work. There are nice newish carrots on pitch 1 but the stance at the end of p1 still has its original very rusty pin as the "main" piece of gear - you can get some awkward wires in next to it, an Alien in a small flake above, and maybe a smallish cam near your knees but otherwise need to climb above the belay to get some decent gear. In this day and age I could see rationale in replacing the pin with a bolt belay.

Also on p2 the lone bolt is an original rusty carrot - the other bolts of this vintage in the area seem to have been replaced. Ditto the rusty bolt in the middle of Greg's Direct (14) above (which is the only good bit of pro for a longways afterward). Happy to sponsor this project (maybe we could talk about naming rights at the same time ;-o).
