The VCC Guidebooks are great, but one small book @ $30 with all the routes I need (for a while at least) around melbourne is my preference

This was done by Reuben Bennett-Daly. He told me personally that he had climbed this line KP.

Reading british mags for years there always seemed to be a pissing contest between club and private printed guides. Only in Tasmainia to my knowledge has this happened here (after going there I bought the other lots guides for more porn) and I suppose thats not here its there.

I like guides and as long as they provide info in a format that is possibly valuable to a user group why not?

Down grading, dont talk to me about downgrading. I want everyones routes downgraded.

Im curious ....has anyone actually repeated the route (Stone Cold Sober) to downgrade it?

The lines you are talking about won't make one ounce of difference to guidebook sales.

As for VCC guides having covered all these areas previously... well Rockclimbs Around Melbourne is a vastly more user-friendly and appealing production. There is a lot of updated information, particularly regarding the Cathedral Range. The photo topos in Rockclimbs Around Melbourne are outstanding.

The VCC guidebooks are still an invaluable resource for those wanting to know about other minor outcrops and other routes not recorded in Glenn's book.

I'm thinking Seven Acre Rock has been consigned to the dustbin of history.

Wow! I didn't know there were two cafes in Nati!
