I see from your profile that you're about as young as me. Do you have any idea how old the oldest climbers are and what sort of grades they are climbing ? Is it possible to be doing serious climbing at 70 ? 80 ? 90 ?

Sir Christopher Bonnington is still climbing and he is 73. There were photos in the latest Crux of him climbing in the Bluies this year.

Denis Kemp (RIP) did a 23 on his last day on earth - you don't get any older than that. He was in his 60's.

John Fantini is 63(?) and is sport climbing in the low twenties still. He blasted up at least seven climbs between 20 and 24 at Porter's Pass in the Bluies on the Sunday before Christmas.

I saw him cruise a tricky 23 jam crack on windjammer wall, point perp a week ago. He made it look ridiculously easy. Stamina to burn.

How impressive is that!!!!
The guy would have outclimbed a fair percentage of the climbing population
(me included) at an age when some of his mates are looking for a nice nursing home.
If thats not some hope and inspiration for you, then nothing is.
