Congratulations! You didn't consider calling him Bruce Barry Andrews given that he was born on Aus Day?

See you tomorrow.

A 'DA' is better than another 'BA'.

But not quite as good as an 'FA'.

Congratulations to all and sundry!

Stoked for you too DaCrux!

thanks guys :)

IdratherbeclimbingM9, I think if he does take up climbing he's gonna be a trad climber - he hates when we take his shirts off :)

Stoked, stoked, stoked! I found out today I was successful with the final interview for the MFB and am now on the order of merit. 20 months of tests and interviews have paid off! Bring on a letter of offer... Please.

Correct; Metropolitan Fire Brigade. Kinda ironic given my house just burnt down. I promise I had nothing to do with the fire either...

And i was just joking to Sol the other day that the discrepancy between your climbing and bouldering grades must be cause you can reach the finishing holds from the ground ... There's a whole thread devoted to suggestions for you to climb, get on the rock and pull more than 2 moves in sequence! The fun lasts much longer.

PS i heard BamBam went down, well done. Hey, there's got to be about 10 moves in that! 400% improvement!

.........speaking of boulders, I'm stoked that last night I met the owner of a granite boulder filled property that I have been recently scoping out. My girlfriend introduced me and told him I liked to climb rocks and that I was wondering if I could go and climb his rocks and he said sure, "no problem, anytime you want".

His property is 2kms from my front door and has heaps and heaps of really nice granite boulders. I have been on the property once before, briefly and the rock is excellent quality. Stoked!

davidn, don't be a one trick pony.

If you love climbing, climb everything you can. It's all about geography and I'm not talking about directions to your nearest bit of rock.

Go to Booroomba and go stupid with a rope and rack. The place is gold.

You are right about that.
The nearest thing I have seen to a granite cave was an unusual feature out at the base of a Mackey's Slab at Buffalo recently. Other than that what constitutes granite 'caves' are perhaps often better described as boulder chokes, though this doesn't slow up entrepeneurs marketing them as 'underground river' (trips) etc.
