An organised ride from falls creek, over tawonga gap, up hotham, then down to omeo and back up to falls creek (Full route is 230km long and includes 4000m of ascending).
I did Falls creek - Dinner plain which is half of the full thing and includes Tawonga gap and climbing up Hotham.

I was just happy to finish in those conditions. Going up Hotham was the hardest riding i've ever done, the last 1km had a lot of people pushing their bikes up. Apparently the drop out rate for the full distance was 42%. I can guess where they all dropped out too.... the warm, dry restaurant/pub at dinner plain! And yes my knee was creaking for a few days afterwards!

You blokes have got it wrong. Treadlies are for going round town on. That loop 3 peaks you describe is prime motorcycle country!
:-)
Back on topic.
I am stoked for you Neddy. Pay little attention to ww&s saying it is a waste, as I can testify that I am still stoked to be happily married for longer than your age... (my youngest is older than you).
I am surprised that another recent poster to this thread did not mention that he did a similar deed when he proposed, and his lady accepted too!

I did think M5 would be a little harder than that. i was just going off the grade in the guide book.
and yeh i do think im a long way off dog face, ive seen Maccas flickr photos, i dont think my head could handle it.
there was a few little no.2 kong wires we used just before the cave which were a little scary. it was also pretty scary fully camming a little C3 and when weighted it crushed the rock and opened all the way and became like a nut.
either way im happy with my first attempt at aiding.

When was "Change Planets" put up? Or doesn't it count as the "real" dogface experience? ;-)
And just to stay on topic, stoked to have had an AWESOME day up at Turtle and Split Rocks with a beginner on his first day outside. I'm 99% certain he's hooked now!!

Is this where I mention that both Turtle and Split Rocks are located on Ring Mountain, specifically in the "Ring Mt Open Space"? And yes, the Coit Tower is visible from Ring Mt...

Turtle rock is a great place for a boulder and to watch the fog to roll in and smother the Golden Gate Bridge and San Fran!
