is the aspiring guides MSC course a goer??
wanna book a course for early sept, then spend a couple weeks trudgin up some routes. anyone wanna recommend something?
i dunno nz grades but from the little table things, class 3/4 looks the goods for a day out.
sw ridge of aspiring & E ridge of cook are both look fine...

A couple of mates and I went up SW ridge of Aspiring at Christmas - fantastic route, would highly recommend it.

haha we used to do that trick all the time at high school parties, gold

speaking of gold, thanks to the concerned individual who pulled me up on my belaying technique at piddo today. i am (for serious) stoked that people would watch out for novices doing the wrong thing & help to keep everyone safe. there was however nothing at all even remotely wrong with what i was doing. have a nice day.

i was belaying straight off the rings, ie my cord is clove hitched to 1 ring & daisy chain to the other, ATC biner off the biner that was on the daisy, so the atc is at about shoulder height . i assume they were getting up me for having the atc too high, but i could easily lock it off & we were on a fricken 14 or somethin so my mate was moving fast & having it a bit higher on a fixed point made it way faster to pull rope through
