Hey, just thought I would share some new info. I was stoked to hear that this land might be owned by Western Water, my wife works there so it would have been easy to get permission to climb/ride there. I have since forund out that it is owned by a particularly shitty old codger that would be none to happy about any of these shenanigans.
While I dont expect this will stop anyone going out there as its rather hidden from view, its always good to know what youre in for.
Scotty have you been out there yet? If so, post some info!

Is it owned by Pat Carmody (owner of Craiglee vineyard, a couple of hundred metres up the hill on the other side) ? I remember him saying he had bought the land around around the creek because it had the same soil type as where his (particularly nice) shiraz is currently planted.
I've chatted with him a few times and may be able to ask for access by some means if this is so.
