UPDATE: This weekend 25th November. It's on again. Time to get buff. For free.
Saturday 11 November

16th December

Meeting 9.30am at top of Central Gully

With the hot weather approaching, we are engaging in a big push to get some work done on the Central Gully track at Mt Arapiles before end of year. After that our stonemason and haulers go into summer hibernation. Three working bees planned and the first one is soon – Saturday 11th November! Drop me a line if you can.

Hi All,

Heading to Araps this weekend? For those that helped out on the Pharos Track rock moving, you will be pleased to know it's flat. No uphill. Get your guns on climbers!

SATURDAY 1st APRIL @ 9.30

CENTRAL GULLY WORKING BEE

Spare an hour or two to move a few rocks onto the new track in the gully so that our Stonemason Walter can do some work next week. Even half hour is good. No uphill trudge required. Grab a few of your friends and make it a training session. Ok, I'm not fooling anyone am I? But it is flat and we do need your help.

WE REALLY NEED YOUR HELP TO DO THIS. YOUR CHANCE TO GIVE A BIT BACK!

Meet at the intersection of where the new track starts up Central Gully near turn off to Mari area. Signs are in place. Wear closed toe shoes. Bring Hats, Sunscreen and Water

Hi Tracey,
As you're no doubt aware we will be there and planning to drag a few VCC trippers up there. Two questions:
1. Is it on regardless of weather, rain hail or shine?
2. Is it sensible/preferred to fill a car with volunteers and drive up the top rather than try and get up and down the track while it's being worked on?
regards
Steve

Hi Steve,

Just in the process of putting together an email re the trip and working bee to you and Paula.
With regards to weather, the working bee will generally go ahead unless it is raining substantially. A little light rain and drizzle is okay, but I will make the call and send you a text in the morning if it all looks a bit iffy. Heat shouldn't be a problem as we do it in the mornings.

Up to you if you want to walk up or drive with a few. Most of the area that Walter works on is actually the new alignment so you won't really be getting in the way if you walk up. The pile we move rocks from is a little down from the top of the gully but easier to use that as a first meeting place. Depending on where you are heading to after, you may want to bring your gear as others did last time and then walk from there. Cheers, Tracey
