Eosya, a new online collaborative guidebook for outdoor activities allows you to create and share your own guidebooks for single pitch climbing, bouldering or multi pitch climbing(and even hiking)!
You can check it out here : http://www.eosya.com
There is nothing yet in Australia : be the first to add a guide in Australia!

Enjoy the Outdoors

What's the benefit over using thecrag.com ?

The crag has already 10,000 logged Australian climbs or some number like that, with many topo's. No point splitting a already great resource into two

The quality of the guide that you can make with eosya is better than the quality of the guide on thecrag. This is the main advantage, but eosya will also be "automatically" translated in other language (already in french, and soon in german, dutch and greek) which will make it easier to find information when you go climbing abroad. eosya also intend to be a platform for every outdoors activities, so that you can see on the same map or array the guides for climbing, hiking, canyoneering, biking, skiing...

I'd be interested if you planned for a guide in Armenian.

Do you have a third party developer API that has no restrictions?

Yes, every time this comes up we ask the same questions.

I see The Crag now has a beta API but the "deals" they list don't seem that appealing, or fair or justifiable. If a free truly open platform with an open API comes along then that will be appealing. Even better would be if multiple sites used the same standard for an open API.

A link to the crag's beta API "deals": http://www.thecrag.com/article/api

I dont really get the whole API thing but dunno if you noticed but the website (thecrag) has a fair sized banner saying they dont even make enough to cover costs.

So maybe their deal with you sucks because your deal with them (actually paying for useful info) isnt being followed through ;)

No there is not yet an API! This could happen someday, but this is not the priority of the team right now. We need more data first to make it more interesting!
