We were trying to get it out for before Easter, but with printers, distribution and such we don't seem to have quite made it.

It's here! The Grampian's finally has a new guidebook and I'm pretty stoked about how it has turned out.
First up a massive thank you to Neil Montieth for the unbelievable amount of hard work he put into this. I was cracking the whip but Neil was churning the work out so fast I couldn't keep up. If he wasn't so on top of the game we would still be working on this next year!
Secondly, thank you so much to all the climbers who contributed in different ways; especially providing route info but also proofing and fact checking. Awesome!
Thirdly, thanks to all the businesses out there who supported production of the guidebook via advertising. Their support enabled us to produce a better book than it otherwise would have been. Actually, simply, without their support this book probably would not exist at all, at least in this form. Show them your support folks.
And here it is:

OK, availability... so last week we received the first couple of boxes from the printers. Everyone who had placed mail-orders with us should have received them by now. Then yesterday we received the rest of our advance air shipment -- and we sent out all the current shop orders that we had. So the following shops should have it in stock from either today or tomorrow. We have been pretty much cleared out of our air shipment already; we expect the bulk (sea) shipment at the end of the month. In other words, we won't be able to send out more shop orders until then. In the meantime here is where you can try to get it:
VIC
Bogong Equipment **
Rock Hardware (Bendigo) **
The Rock Adventure Centre (Geelong) **
Hardrock Climbing Company
The Wilderness Shop (Box Hill)
Wimmera Outdoors (Horsham)
Arapiles Mountain Shop (Natimuk)
NSW
Mountain Equipment **
Climbing Anchors (Coffs Harbour) **
The Frontier (Crows Nest) **
Sydney Indoor Climbing Gym (St Peters)
Paddy Pallin (Katoomba)
Summit Gear (Katoomba)
Big John's BJR Climbing Equipment (Blackheath)
Pulse Climbing (Newcastle)
Vertical Reality (Wagga Wagga)
ACT
Mont Adventure Shop
QLD
K2 Base Camp **
Urban Climb
** = stockists who also supported the guidebook with advertising.
Thanks everyone. See you down there!

I think I've now read most of it. There's some good motivation to get stronger in there...

Apparently a Frenchman just put the guidebook out of date! Mirage pitch 2 project on Taipan is now grade 32 - done as one mega 60m pitch. Another 4 star classic.

That's some serious climbing. Can't even imagine the endurance required.

The first half is grade 22 (Seventh Pilar LHV) - so its not as epic as some may imagine.

At least it hasn't fallen into the grade averaging trap. You know "it's grade 22 but the crux is 32, so we've graded it 27"

How does your starring work given that this new route is suddenly a 4 star classic (despite having had only one ascent) and Mr Joshua only gets 3 stars (even though your own guide says the first pitch is possibly the best grade 25 pitch in the country)?

This one was a 4 star classic 20 years ago, only now its had an ascent. Compared to that, Mr J was lucky to get even 3.

You might need to explain to me Dave why this new route is so much better than Mr J.

The climbing on Mr J is all broken up with big ledges. The top pitch of World Party or even the 1st pitch of 7th pillar are better more sustained pitches I think. Don't get me wrong...its not a terrible route by a long shot...but the competition is pretty stiff on that wall.
Id be curious to hear from someone who's been on that and Groove Train as to which was the better route. I think the new one is the better line (I always thought it would be a contender for line of the wall) but maybe groove train climbs better.
