During building work I split a block I had set some anchors in (for testing purposes). The boulder crumbled leaving the sandstone stuck to the bolt with rust. The rust is the super special glue that keeps most bolts keeping on in the Blueys I reckon.

I must admit my test bash-in carrots pull out way easier than old rusted things (they invariably snap before pulling out) so maybe when ground-upping we should pour a little salty water into the hole before belting them in?

Rust takes up significantly more (>2x) volume than iron(steel). So a rusting carrot is natures own expansion bolt!
