If it was in the Grose, it would be a classic.
And probably repeated.

Wingello sounds good, plenty of climbs and open projects to tick. Good flat camping as well.

Wingello sounds OK to me for a NSW venue, as I haven't been in that part of the world for ages now.
If the Vics decide on a location and date that doesn't clash, then some of us may be able to make both celebrations, assuming Wingello gets a guernsey!

Sorry, no.
If the enthusiasm goes that far, then I happily leave that aspect to others more talented. In the meantime I will wear my vintage Chockstone T shirt,... though I don't know if Belinda is still doing them.

I think you all just need to settle down, ODH will provide the must do tick list for the day.

Bump.
One week till ten years of Chocky, who's doing what?
I still vote for a gathering at Araps on Queen's Birthday long weekend.

I won't be able to make it to Araps on that weekend, but if it is the Vic concensus date/location then go for it!
If however, another date is chosen then that could be good luck for myself and possibly others, ... & in the meantime I am looking forward to Wingello!

Love to be there but the True North Strong and Free calls. My thoughts will - fleetingly - be with you from Skaha (before going on to Leavenworth, City of Rocks, The Ghost, The Bow Valley, the Valhallas, Squamish and other ports of call yet to be confirmed).
:-)

So if it happened, how did it go?
Myself? I enjoyed the adventure of the 43rd Alpine Motorcycle Rally that weekend...

How did it go?
If not, then I am still looking forward to celebrating the 10th Chockstone Gathering.
~> Anyone interested in going to Wingello in NSW?
If the Vic contingent didn't get their act together at Araps, then what are the chances of a BBQ/Boree log gathering (if not at Wingello), at some place easy like Camels Hump, or some other easily accessible cliff to Melbourne, ... Teneriffe, ...
or Big Hill at Euroa*?
The Chocky guide describes Big Hill as;
Basically, this is a recommended day trip destination for those people happy to muck about on 15 to 21 grades, with a couple of beginner routes to satisfy newcomers to the sport. Nothing to do for non-climbers though, so probably not SO friendly (for non-climbers).
Maybe set a date in spring when the weather is more friendly?
?
... I wonder if our Chocky mate cicada (cjradloff) would be prepared to travel down from Qld for it?
Heh, heh, heh.

Well let's see, um, gfdonc and I met up on Queen's Birthday long weekend and drank a bottle of Chockstone shiraz (yes it was called that). I know he took a pic, don't know if it turned out.
Does that count?

Point perp? Great camping, good climbing at most grades, near nowra for those inclined, good bowlo and fishing for those inclined. Kinda year round spot.

I could make it to that if it was more later than November. Point Perp is not a bad summer destination.

MT ARAPILES - 29-30 SEPTEMBER ???
- It's Spring
- It's NSW Labour Day long weekend (to make it worth the trip down)
- It's uni holidays so those "hard working" student who spend their time procrastinating on Chockstone can make it.
- I can make it
