In response to Mikl's post re horrible old climbing boots I dug out the box of ancient gear that has followed me round the world, (mostly unused) for the last 30 years. Here's a sample:
For the under-35s, what is it?
For the over-35s (especially for the over-50s) it's a join-the-dots puzzle.
Hints: (1) It came out of the top pitch of Excalibur (Wolgan) in the late 1970s. (2) It's actually upside down.

You were supposed to fill in the second letter, not the first.

Not sure I can join the dots, but I'm betting it used to say "Clog" on there somewhere.

Good to see at least someone else remembers their Australian climbing history .
Amazed that my cryptic comment failed to give it away to the others . .
And surely others can make out the W & B . . .
Pretty sure Clogs would have been on wire
Chouinards would have been modern hex shape, also prob not available
Cheers

As far as I know Ewbank made some basic hex stock nuts.

I had a set of Ewbank hex's for my first rack. They looked like this one. In better shape though.

Ewbank made 'Crackers' in about '68, in a range of sizes . .
'A' to 'K' covered from about 3/8" to 3 1/2" .
Cut from hex bar of different sizes and drilled.

I'd need to stack ten of them side by side for my futile 'project'.
