Hello
Looking for recommendations on dynamic rope (60 or 70m) for outdoor use. First time buying rope, I will be using it for sport routes, top roping and some lead. Not looking to spend heaps of money as I don't get outdoors all that often :( and also an almost beginner climber so don't need a pro rope,
Any recommendations?

My brother just picked up a Mammut 60m x 10mm from Mountain Designs for $130 on sale.... It is a thing of beauty;)
I'd get a 60m rope somewhere in the 9.8-10.5mm range if you plan to TR lots. I have a set of 50m double ropes and there are plenty of times I wished they were 60m.
Talk to Steve at Rock Hardware, link on the left. I reckon for under $200 you can get a good all rounder...

10mm because they tend to be harder wearing. As your a beginner, you'll do things like run it over edges.
Brand does not matter.

If mountain designs still have their sale on, run don't walk and grab yourself a mammut. $150 for a good rope is ridiculously cheap.

Yeah, $150 for a 10mm 60m Mammut is a really good deal.
