Found: One RP bolt plate

Found: One 90 degree RP bolt plate on a carrot (1st off the deck) at Sparrow Slabs, Mt Teneriffe.

If anyone can accurately describe it I'd be happy to send it to them if they provide me $5 for postage plus handling.

In the case of multiple people giving correct descriptions there will be an auction and the bolt plate will be sent to the person who offers the highest amount of postage plus handling. Alternatively, we could divide the plate into the number of correct respondents and share it, which seems more warm, fuzzy and caring.

If you can tell me which climb it was on (route name, grade, description and position on the slabs) that would get it sent to you for free, as I have no guide book, no idea what climb we were on at the time and it would be nice to know.

... did you have to undo a nut to get it off?
;-)

Heh, heh, heh.

The 19 at the left hand end of the slab. Has chains.

Ooops, is that wrong?

>~> Then how would you know if a description provided was not a sandbag?

Well, we climbed it anyway, so so any sandbagging is unlikely to get me into unexpected trouble at this point (at least as far as that climb goes)!

Yes, actually, Any idea what it's called? I take it the plate is yours, then?

My guides in the car at the moment and can't be bothered getting off my bum...

It's not mine though, I was just guessing. I was there the weekend prior and that was the only route I didn't do on that wall, so it was easy to assume.

It's a bolt plate, keep it...and next time try Claudia Rising, it's sik!

Was it on the climb at the far left hand end of sparrow slabs, was it found on the 3rd of jan at about 4.52pm and were you climbing with a failed Yoda and is your name Back Off Ben?

The far left climb (that starts up the gully a bit) isn't in the guide, or my guide anyway. We thought it might be closer to 17?

Well, yes, but anyone could have guessed all that. You'll need to be able to give an accurate description of the plate before I'd consider it yours.

Nasty of you to bring up my weekend of shameful back-offs on a public forum - still, I earned the moniker... :-(

Mind you, I was more "Gibber-and-Howl-in-Fear-Ben" yesterday.

17 or 18 sounds about right to me (any harder and I probably wouldn't have got up it yesterday, frankly). SBW may have some thoughts there.

I'm a bit confused by it, though; the first pitch and a half was bolted with carrots that looked fairly new, but the 2nd half of the top pitch had some older slightly rusted fixed hangers. Maybe someone started bolting the top pitch top-down a while ago and it's only recently been completed?

So, you still wont let me have the plate then?

Grade 17 is about right for the climb, still don't know the name though

Oh, all right then. In fact, you can have all my bolt plates. I'm sticking to cracks from now on...
