Took the two boys out to Mount York the other day and they had a great time on a few
bits of rock normally not climbed. Anyway, there was some discussion a while ago
about kids harnesses and I had the opportunity to get a few pics of what works for Tom
(5 and a half) and Ben (3 and a bit).
Tom's harness is one of the standard Petzl kids ones, Ben's is two 120cm slings with a
few overhand knots and twists in the right places. The important thing for Ben is that his
head is (while average for age) still very heavy compared with the rest of his body so,
when weighted, his attachment point has to be up at his sternum otherwise he can't hold
his head up. Quite complicated to tie straight in so I've used one of those rubik's cube
style BD push-it-half-way-and-twist locking biners.
