Male airlifted from Arapiles last night after a fall. Anyone know the details leading up to the accident?

Could it have been this incident?? Anybody??
Apparently a friend of some people I know with initial reports far worse, being in a coma..
This provides some details and perhaps some people might like to contribute.
Cheers

Mate I have been told it was a climber from New Zealand so unfortunately yes. Wishing him all the best with his recovery.

As an example to Wendy's point.
Just got the bill for Maureens mishap, 1 Ambulance from Araps to Wimmera Base $1800.
She had cover.
Dont however know what the cost ramicacations are if it is an air abulance to Melbourne as
required for Richard Morgans Accident

$13,000 apparently, his family are trying to raise the funds to pay for it.

According to the stuff link, $13,000NZD, which is about $12,000AUD.
From memory:
Regional ambulance is a call out + a per kM charge, out and back.
Air ambulance is a call out charge, plus a per minute charge in the air, including refueling. So the guy that they flew to arapiles, flew elsewhere to refuel, then back to arapiles, then Melbourne would've cost more than just an out and back.
I don't know for sure anymore because I got AV membership and stopped looking in to it.
If you don't have a spare $15,000 kicking about, AV membership is probably a good idea.

Yep thought it would be up in that range, we use heli lifts at work at $3500 per hour of engine time, so do the maths on that, Bendigo Araps return to Melb

Looks like they've changed the fee structure since I last paid attention. Here's the price list: http://www2.health.vic.gov.au/hospitals-and-health-services/patient-care/ambulance-and-nept/ambulance-fees

Considering the other accident thread was already discussing costs etc I had hoped this thread would avoid digressing into that diversion, but oh well ...
To those who chose to respond to the financial appeal by simply reducing it to 'get ambulance cover'... I'm hoping that is not simply dismissive of giving consideration to making some small donation, and I would hope that you would also receive the support of the climbing community should it ever be you on the receiving end... cheers
