Me and three mates are planning a weekend in the Bluies in mid-March looking to climb Cosmic County area both days. Can anyone recommend a decent place to stay that's nearby? We'd like somewhere that's pleasant to be at for the brief amount of time we'll be in it. We don't want dorm-style but we're not after five star, either. A cabin type arrangement would be ideal.

There's not much around Cosmic County. If you will have a car, you might be better off camping at Mt York and driving to CC. I don't think there's much other accomodation in Mt. Victoria except maybe the hotel. There won't be much in Blackheath, but the camping in Megalong valley is nice, and Katoomba has hostels and such but it's getting further away. Cabins up in the Bluies are usually small privately owned affairs and are expensive, but you'd probably find something by web search, not that it will be close to CC anyway because CC is away from the built-up areas. Go the camping!!!!

Hi There
Try Lithgow. There are a couple of caravan parks with cabins that are priced more cheaply than the Bluies. You are still close to The County from there.
If you have a mullet a flanno and a HR you will feel at home.

you could stay at the mt vic pub or the other B&B behind it then it's just a short drive up the Bells Line of Road....looks around $100 a night:

Stay at my place in Mt Vic. Got two spare rooms with double bed and singles. We're 1.5kms from the pub on the Darling Causeway towards Cosmic. We've got plenty of room to camp if you want that option. Two climbing crags on site, Foxtel, internet, plenty of guide books and beta, running water and electricity. 25 bucks per person a night should cover it.
