Great story, great time.

Frenchmans is great. We went there end 1975, managed Thierry on 29 Dec, 30th we were rained free from the Chimes; New Year was our day of glory and 2nd we met our climbing Road directly, that evening packed out with next to no food in an impending storm But that track was something else, only bettered by Ewbank's comments in the Lake Vera log book, themselves wonderfully scorned by the avid bushwalking (=mudwhacking) fraternity! My lasting memory of the 1993 replay where we got washed off the Chimes again (you have no idea of the value of that photo of Vanessa) is Greg James , shoulder deep in mud, saying he won't get pulled out until i've taken a photo so someone would believe his story.
