Bushfire east of Avenel - Mt Teneriffe affected? |

02-Dec-2014, ABC radio reports 50 firefighters combined with aerial appliances are fighting a (lightning strike started), bushfire in precipitous country (vertical rock faces were mentioned), east of Avenel.
No infrastructure is threatened, though grazing country has been burnt out, along with inaccessable areas.
Firefighters hope to have it contained later on today.

Not based on that description, Mt Teneriffe is further north.

You are right (now that I have researched further), though only 10 (maybe 12 kms), NNE; ... though Teneriffe is also spread out over 1½ km and I wouldn't bet big money on the accuracy of a CFA fire symbol location on a map in windy fire conditions...
(My post was motivated by the radio report, & I have since followed up by checking the CFA site for detail. ☺)
