Morning All,
There is a new bolted route (with double achors near top) between Hannibal and Androceles (~Grade 16). I haven't seen it recorded anywhere, so can someone enlighten me as to what it is called and the grade. If I was to hazard a guess, I reckon Mr Tempest may well had a hand in it.
Cheers, JDB

Don't think so. Think it is the line on the other side.

Far out. Wasn't the idea of lower offs on top of climbs at WG vetoed?
Is it up the steep slab between Hannibal and Discipuli?

Mig,
I believe that was in reference to established climbs with pole belays on top.
btw Redex has a lower off as well.
We must be talking about the same route, there won't be two similar routes squeezed into such a small area.

There was also a recent discussion in SCA where it was suggested placing lower offs above many of the popular climbs may reduce rockfall/increase safety. It's seems to have been fairly clear cut 'NO' for that idea.

Yeah I've utilized that one many a time and replaced the captive biners on it not too long ago.

I reckon we may be. Scipio Africanus (17) goes up the arête to the L of Marcus Schaevelo, steps around the arête, up the slab past two rings to the double ring anchors.
EDIT: added info about SCA discussion
