I have a spare day (GF is horse riding) on an NZ trip im doing in 3 weeks time .
I was thinking about getting a day in at Wye Creek.
Anyone recomend a guide company to go with since i dont have a partner. Or some other idea of finding a partner for a day?

i was there last week and went into the crammed outdoor shop for some info. there is a guidebook that cover rock ice and mixed around qtown but we couldnt buy i because there hasnt been a print run for few years. I wasnt even allowed to photocopy a few pages so had to wirte some notes down which was a bit shit. Apart from that the guy was quite helpful and climbs a bit too so if you are expereinced and have some gear you might be able to tag along. otherwise im sure he can recommend a guide company. its the store just next to the bakery on shotover st close to gorge road roundabout. you'll know when you find the shop because its cramed full of stuff.

Good luck finding a partner.
In terms of anyone seeking guidebooks, other than the routes at Wye Creek, Chinaman's Bluff, etc that are in Rock Deluxe, you could also try climbnz.org.nz as well as the routes on the Remarkables presented in the guide linked about half way down on the following page:

The store is called small planet, or something like that.
In terms of a guide, perhaps talk to Rupert since he is a guide working down there who is also responsible for a reasonable number of sumer and winter routes in the region.
