Wanted: Guidebook "Queenstown Rock, Ice and Mixed

Heading to NZ in early August for a bit of ice. Does anyone have a copy of "Queenstown Rock, Ice and Mixed" they are prepared to sell? Its currently out of print.

Alternatively, does anyone have info on the approach to the ice climbing at upper Wye Creek?

I saw a copy in Mountain Equipment in Kent St, Sydney, last weekend.

Try when you get into town? R&R or Small Planet prob have a copy

Up to Wye Saddle from the Remarks ski field then follow er down
3 hrs on skis from the skifield
Or some folk choose to come in from the south side.

The Climber 64, Winter 08 has a page Wye.

I had a look on the NZAC site, as I was going to get it directly from them with a member discount, but unfortunately they didn't have any copies. I ended up getting one from an outdoor store in Sydney, thanks for the heads up Damo.

Another Chockstone member emailed me a couple of topo's ... thanks very much!!

A new batch of reprints was made bout a month or two ago
Copies all over NZ right now.

How'd you get on in QT anyway EJ?

Was a bit warm when we were there and in hindsight we probably shouldn't have been on the ice ... icicles were dropping and we could hear water running behind the ice. It absolutely hosed down for the first 2-3 days.

Did a few routes on the main Wye Creek flow, though on top rope due to the conditions.

I think I saw your entry in the logbook at the Remarkables Ski Field ... were you up on the west face of the Telecom Tower?

Yeah I probably know when you were there then. Yep lean WI season around QT

Had a few trips up the WF. You should check that out next time.
