Cheap or free holds for Kabul kids climbing wall

Hi there,

I've been working in Kabul for the last 6 months and am briefly back to Sydney on holiday. There's a great NGO in Kabul called "Skateistan" (skateistan.org) that combines free school classes with skating lessons at a specially built skate park.

Within the skate park there's also a climbing wall that was donated by European donors, and on weekends over the past couple of months I've recently started teaching the kids there how to belay, tie the knots, and use their wall (the previous climber working for the organisation having departed a couple of years ago). It's been a lot of fun for me (my work during the week is very different) and the young girls and boys get a huge kick out of it, a few of them (like a lot of kids) are just naturals.

Anyway because of logistical constraints the only way to get material into the country is by air (usually boards in people's luggage) and as the wall is in need of holds, I was trying to get my hands on some cheap or donated holds while back in Sydney that I'll take back in my empty suitcase to Kabul on 18 November.

Anyone have any spare holds/ideas/contacts at a climbing gym in Sydney?

If so please write me a line at gtrambaiolo@hotmail.com or call 0459 382 941, I'll be between Blackheath and Lane Cove in Sydney but could swing round to pick holds up (even from Canberra).

There are links to hi-res versions of climbing photos here: http://media.skateistan.org/Images/climbing%20photos%20high%20res/
