Seems that Jan Cameron, former owner of the Kathmandu outdoor enterprise, may have plans to expand the Macpac operation . . .

Didn't she also start up a company called "Dogs Breakfast", which is now closing down according to adverts seen in The Age newspaper recently.

When Macpac was sold it went to a N.Z. company, Mouton Noir, which had previously acquired Fairydown. A search of corporate details uncovered no links between Mouton Noir and Jan Cameron but a former associate of hers was listed as a Director of Mouton Noir and also appeared to be a shareholder of a separate company holding shares in Mouton Noir.

If it smells like fish, tastes like fish and looks like fish isn't it probably a fish. I smell in this particular case the stinky mullet of your pretty average set of corporate manoeuvres to get around a industry exclusion clause. A standard condition in sale of large valuble businesses. But, gee what would I know ; )
