Hey all
I recently started 'proper training' for climbing, ie training with the intent of benefitting my climbing, instead of going to the gym mostly for the pizza and beers after. So I've been looking at stuff about training generally, and in my search I came across some rad quotes from Bruce Lee that seemed to apply to climbing.
Wisdom from Bruce:
"If you always put limit on everything you do, physical or anything else. It will spread into your work and into your life. There are no limits. There are only plateaus, and you must not stay there, you must go beyond them."
And:
"A goal is not always meant to be reached, it often serves simply as something to aim at."
And one more, that isn't about training but is no harm to be published on Chockstone:
"Showing off is the fool's idea of glory."
Does anyone else have some good quotes about training for climbing?

I know a Bruce and his famous quote from a first visit to Bomaderry Creek was "Whats that bird? She sounds like shes taking it up the hooter".

New Chockstone record shattered: going from inspirational philosophy to gutter humour in only one posting.
Terrific effort WWS, perhaps that's what Bruce meant about goals?

One of my favourites, which might even be from Einstein is
You are what you do repeatedly.
Another, from Hoerst, but not necessarily a direct quote:
What are you prepared to give up to achieve your goals.
I like it because if you want to make a change, clearly you've got to stop doing something you're currently doing.

A couple of quotes from Clint whilst seconding me on Neffertiti at Mt. Wellington. His finger had a huge hole in it as we were nearing the end of our trip to Taswegia. "Ahhh, even oxygen hurts it". During the climb which is only a 15 or something, he declared that "This thing occasionaly threatens to turn into a real rock climb".

Anyone own Dr Frederick Hatfields (Dr Squat) book Power?
In an analysis of power vs power enduranance there is a timeline showing the Carl Lewis/Ben Johnson race (losers don't take enough drugs).
Dr Squat notes that over the first 10m he knows "shotputters who sprint faster" than that and" I'm not impressed"
