I'm thinking about getting a pair of these from Switzerland. The guy who makes them says 75 euro to ship them here, but he can get a few pairs in for this price, anyone want to get some and share shipping?

Oh wow, perfect timing.
We had an epic on Bogong last Thursday, and part of the epic involved bootpacking on soft breakable crust down the Granite Spur. Mostly too steep and narrow to ski, we bootpacked with difficulty for about 2km. These kit would have saved us.
We're interested.
How do you size them? We both have Irvis Hybrid crampons, normal shoe size 39 and 45.

No disrespect intended but what exactly is ‘bootpacking’. I suspect you simply mean walking across a steepish slope but maybe it’s a new technique or even a new sport?

I assume it means having your stuff in a pack and your boots are in contact with the ground. Another similar term is "bike packing". This is something you did to your bike so it would carried on a plane. It would now appear to mean "cycle touring" which is what it was called 25+ years ago when I was doing it. And don't get me started on "back packing" (which weirdly, probably inspired the term), how often do you see someone "front packing"? And I won't touch upon the other American term; "fanny pack"!

Bike packing differs from cycle touring in that the minimal lightweight gear is carried in soft gear bags and not large panniers. That way off road single track can be ridden without fear of snagging on nearby trees or bushes.

I rode the Mawson trail a number of years back. A good introduction paint by numbers trail -~900 km from Adelaide to Blinman.

There are 3 sizes, see the chart in the product images, its based on the length of the sole of your boots
