I just heard that Jim Grelis died this morning after a long illness. Probably not known to people on this site. He did a lot of climbing in the mid 70s, mostly with La Trobe Uni (Bundoora) based people. He also played an active role in BSAR for many years.
Jim was one of our party of three that went to try the FA of Blade Ridge DF in January 77. In the end we got in to the peak but didn't set foot on the climb. Only me left of that team now, with John Taylor also dying young of cancer.
I haven't seen much of him in recent years. Time moves on inexorably. Vale Jim. |
