I tripped over the photo below (again) tonight while looking for something else on a thread;
~> and it gave me yet another chuckle when I reflected on the outrageousness of the story behind it.
This got me to wondering about climbing scams, and I reckon this one would have to be right up there if it isn't the greatest.
Anyone know of any better?
PS After attending the Law Unto Himself book-launch/slideshow recently; ... even it didn't have an equivalent (at least not mentioned), entertaining as it was...

Simey used his real name, they climbed a route and got down safe.

I would've called it the greatest wind up or pisstake or something. Wasn't there a longer version of the story on super topo or something?
