Hey Chockers,
Any suggestions for toddler-friendly crags around the Grampians?
Haven't done much climbing there, but I'm planning a camping trip with the fam and some friends and we're hoping to find a place with some easy/moderate routes to top-rope. Ideally the approach won't be too epic, but perhaps more crucially I'm looking for a place where some toddlers could hang out in relative safety (ie. a flat, open base, not the edge of a cliff).
We've got enough adults to share the climbing/belaying/child-minding roles, but we're hoping to make the child supervision as low-stress as possible. And I do mean toddlers (ie. 1-3 years old).
cheers.

I would imagine that Summerday Valley would work. Ticks all the boxes. Nice walking. Toproping with setups easy to access. Flat contained areas and you can also take them on little adventure walks within the area.
Cheers,

Yep, Summerday Valley. Plenty for non-climbers to top-rope, shortest/easiest approach in Grampians, and if staying at ground level, no ledges for toddlers to fall off. *May* be *relatively* quiet as it tends to see most traffic from guides and school groups.
Fairly minimal bolted routes, thus nearly all top ropes are on natural anchors.

The Watchtower crag in the Grampians. Just as convenient as Summer Day Valley.

Thanks all. Much appreciated. Seems like a bit of a consensus there, perhaps as long as we avoid school holidays!
cheers.
