Hey all,
I was just beginning to scheme some more NZ Alpine shenannigans and headed over to mountainz.co.uk to get an idea of what's been happening this season so far. It appears the website has been shut down. If you google around you an find a few of their old articles etc, but the forums and main index page seem to be entirely gone.
Does anyone know when or why this great resource was taken offline?

Yep, taken down. The administrator obviously didn't want to public announce his reasons so let's respect his wishes but there is an email on the address if you want further info.

For those who are interested, Glenn Pennycook (one of the Mountainz.co.nz founders) and I will be creating an online archive of articles that were first published on Mountainz.co.nz by the end of this year.
The archive will likely be created on the iclimb.co.nz website and will include many of the popular 'How to' articles (e.g., Transition from glacier to the climb, Art of the bivouac, All about avalanches, etc.),in addition to articles about climbing in NZ and abroad.
If you ever contributed to Mountainz, whether you wrote an article or submitted a photo and blurb for 'Moment in Time', please get in touch if you would like to know more about the planned archive. Otherwise, I'll be checking through the articles/'Moments' and emailing any Aussie contributors at some stage to check that you are happy for your work to be reproduced elsewhere.
Cheers,
Francesca
former Mountainz editor
