All began failing with the top leg starting to pull from its hole, followed by rock fractures and significant distortion.
This was an epoxy 80 mm Ubolt after 48.3 kN, and is still in place. The arrows show the point on each leg where the the ubolt entered the rock initially. The upper (right) leg has been pulled out about 10 mm, while the lower leg hasn't moved out of its hole yet.
This picture shows a Ubolt that pulled (polyester , 80 mm embedment, 37.8 kN) and an 8 mm maillon that opened at 36 kN (rated to 30 kN) by stripping the thread.
