The Special Crew

I've hardly been outside the gym in days,
'cause I don't feel that I deserve the sunshine's rays.
Your beta helped but my fingers slipped away,
And I can't hang that sloper, my strength it always fades.
When you're young you have this image in your head:
That you'll be hard and knock those other climbers dead.
And you have projects that you'll probably not ascend,
And if you happen to, the spray will never end.
But I will fight for you, be sure that
I will fight until we're the special crew once again.

And we will only need each other, we'll bleed together,
Our hands will not be taught to belay another,
Because we were the special crew.
And we could only see each other, we'll bleed together,

I remember someone old once said to me:
"That with real holds, you don't need an Allen key."
But I was comfortable and warm inside the gym,
And with some Lycra tights, I'm sure I'd climb like Kim.
So is it better to jam and hurt or use the holds upon the face??
Well I guess the answer is don't climb cracks in the first place.
I know I'm not deserving of your trust from you right now,
Because my belay hand slipped as I tried to lower you down

I now climb outside as often as I can
And look at me, with shoulders like a man,
My elbows hurt. I need to ease the pain.
But nothing cures the tendonitis, when you over-train,
Just cranking, just cranking like when we were...
